Kara wondered the lands alone for years before making her way to the towns. It was here she learned the ways of a thief. For somebody her size she had remarkable skill in remaining hidden, and for having large clawed hands she was able to use them nimble and precise enough for thievery. She spent her time honing these skills stealing her meals and collecting others wealth. No matter how much time she spent in these towns and cities, she always found herself up a tree every night curled up to sleep. Woken up constantly from nightmares of her past. Still only while in these trees and around the nature she remembers does she feel comfortable, and in every town and city she went to she saw the disrespect and abuse the humans had for it. This light a fire deep within her.
Humans became enemies to her. She began to pick up jobs to kill them. She became a hitman. Though most of her clients where human, she did not care. To her, profiting off the stupidity of one human to kill another was fine with her, in her mind, they would all get what she wanted. Death. For years she took contracts, answering to no one but herself, her skill getting even more remarkable. Till one night, something went horribly wrong, and that wrong was a Warlord named Aris Amnistar.
A Windsoul Genasi gave young Kara the fight of her life. Kara was beaten bloodied for the first time sense she was a child, and shifted for the first time. With a fury of rage the beast came forth. The battle was a haze of steel and blood, but in the end, both still stood. Kara beaten in her own game, she retreated. She ran, ran for her life, and the Genasi gave chase. Only through clever tricks did she lose the Warlord, darting the alleys and using the shadows that she knows all to well. Finally next to her tree she collapsed. She failed. Broken, she sat in that tree for three days running her fingers over her old and new scars recalling the past, reminding her she’s not weak.
Inside she knew she was weak, she knew something inside her screamed out for attention from another. Understanding, compassion, and love. Years of being alone weighed heavily on her heart, but she dare not recognize it. Deep with in her is that child screaming for help. Help she believes will never come.
